Business process outsourcing is simply this: you hand a function to a specialist provider, and you get the output without carrying the headcount, the recruitment cycle or the compliance work behind it. We have been doing that from Kathmandu since 2003.
In practice we work two ways. In the first, we recruit, train, employ and supervise staff who are deployed to your site or work under your direction — they sit on our payroll, not yours. In the second, you hand us the process itself and we run it end to end from our premises, and you receive the result against agreed targets.
Either way the recruitment, contracts, payroll, statutory contributions, leave, replacement cover and daily supervision are ours to manage. Employer of Record: hiring in Nepal without setting up a company
If you want one person or a small team in Nepal but do not want to register a subsidiary, an Employer of Record arrangement is usually the shorter route. J&T becomes the legal employer of the person you choose. They work to your direction, on your projects; we hold the employment relationship.
That means we issue the employment contract under Nepali labour law, run monthly payroll, withhold and deposit income tax, handle registration and contributions for the statutory schemes including the Social Security Fund and provident fund, administer leave and gratuity entitlements, and keep the records an inspection would ask to see.
It suits foreign companies testing the market, organisations that need a local presence for a fixed-term project, and teams who found the right candidate in Kathmandu before they had an entity to hire them into.
